Annerie is joining the Get-Organized challenge today!
“Here are photos of my disarrayed ‘office’ space. I have tried to organize it time and time again but to no avail. The glass cupboard has three shelves, but unfortunately the bottom doors are locked and I will have to get a locksmith to open it.
There is also a drawer full of stationary which I’ve been trying to get to, but it is very overwhelming and therefore gets put off time and time again. I have gathered a lot of toilet rolls to organize the stationary (like I saw on Pinterest), but the task seems to get away from me every time I try to start it.
Plus I need to have a little kitchen area as well, just for coffee and tea. I would very much appreciate any advice you would be willing to give.” – Annerie
Annerie, thanks so much for reaching out! First off, call a locksmith! You’re going to have to do it sooner or later, and that’s something you can take care of within just a few minutes of your own time.
Second, I looked at the pinterest ideas you showed me (here and here). They’re adorable, but the fact that you haven’t done anything with your toilet paper rolls makes me think that you may need to simplify your stationary idea. Try putting all of your stationary supplies in a drawer or basket, like this:
If the basket idea doesn’t appeal to you, check out this post for more really fast and frugal storage solution ideas.
I love the idea of having a kitchen area in the office! I’d recommend cleaning out your glass cupboards, then putting your hot beverage area inside the cupboard. Pretty and functional!
Based on what I’ve looked at in your office, I recommend checking out this article about how to simplify your paper clutter, this article with more great ideas for organizing a home office, and this article about how to create a beautiful and functional hot-beverage station.
I hope this helps you Annerie! I can’t wait to see what you do with your office!
